COVID-19 Vaccines & Boosters
Your health and well-being are our top priorities. We encourage everyone 6 months and older to receive the 2024–2025 COVID-19 vaccine, including those who have previously been vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19. Protecting our community together starts with you.
Shingles (Shingrix)
Healthy adults 50 years and older should get two doses of Shingrix, separated by 2 to 6 months.You should get Shingrix even if in the past you
had shingles received Zostavax* (Zostavax is no longer available for use in the U.S. as of 11/18/2020) are not sure if you had chickenpox.
There is no maximum age for getting Shingrix.
Seasonal Influenza (Flu) Vaccination
The “flu shot” — an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. There are three different flu shots available:
- Regular quadrivalent flu shot approved for people ages 6 months and older
- High-dose flu shot approved for people 65 and older, and
- Preservative-free quadrivalent flu shot
Seasonal flu vaccines protect against the three influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season. The viruses in the vaccine can change each year based on international surveillance and scientists’ estimations about which types and strains of viruses will circulate in a given year. About 2 weeks after vaccination, antibodies that provide protection against the influenza viruses in the vaccine develop in the body.
